Pleasant Prince 2010 Kentucky Derby Odds: Pleasant Prince and Eightyfiveinafifty are both running in Saturday’s Derby Trial. If either wins, he would move past Paddy O’Prado into the top 20. If they lose, Paddy O’Prado’s spot will be locked in and secure for the 2010 Kentucky Derby. Online racebook BODOG.com had listed Pleasant Prince 50 to 1 odds to win the 2010 Kentucky Derby.
Pleasant Prince’s owner, Ken Ramsey, said last week he would likely send hi
s horse on to the Kentucky Derby if he won the Derby Trial. Currently with $162,500 in graded earnings, the son of Indy King, would almost certainly rank in the top 20 if he won this weekend’s race, which will net the winner at least $120,000.
Pleasant Prince, trained by Wesley Ward, missed by a nose in the Florida Derby on March 20th and finished seventh in the Toyota Blue Grass Stakes at Keeneland April 20th in his last two starts. He is 1-2-1 from eight lifetime tries.
The Derby Trial is April 24th and headlines opening day of the 42-day Churchill spring meet and is one week before the Kentucky Derby.
