I Want Revenge is owned by breeder David J. Lanzman, IEAH Stables, Puglisi Racing and Charles Winner. IEAH Stables is best known for winning the 2008 Kentucky Derby with champion Big Brown. Jeff Mullins is the trainer of I Want Revenge and the horse will be ridden by 19 year old jockey Joe Talamo. It will be the first time that Joe Talamo has ridden a horse in the Kentucky Derby.

"I dedicated myself to being a jockey," stated jockey Joe Talamo about riding the 2009 Kentucky Derby Odds favorite I Want Revenge. "It's really all I worked toward. I'd wake up at 3:30 in the morning and go out to the track with my dad and really start from the bottom up. We've tried everything with him in the morning. We'd work him behind horses, in front of horses, outside, inside. He was really ready for anything. But looking back, the Wood was probably a blessing in disguise because he overcame just about every bad obstacle there was, and that says a lot for a 3-year-old."

I Want Revenge has graded earnings of $774,000 and has finished in the money in the last eight races he has ran in including finishing first in his last two at the Wood Memorial on April 4th and Gotham on March 7th. He is a grandson of 1992 Horse of the Year A.P. Indy and the great grandson of 1977 Triple Crown winner Seattle Slew.

"He's just an incredible horse," Talamo said. "I'm so proud of him. He's come a long way since I rode him at Oak Tree. I feel he's starting to peak at the right time."
