2010 Kentucky Derby Picks: Mission Impazible 20 to 1 Derby Odds: Another Todd Pletcher trained colt, Mission Impazible, is presently forecasted at 20 to 1 Derby Odds at online bookmaker BetUS.com. The horse, which is owned by the Twin Creeks Racing Stables, will begin tomorrow's 136th Run for the Roses from the 14 post.
Mission Impazible got his first win since taking his maiden special weight last April by securing the top spot in the
Grade 2 Lousiana Derby in March. That victory, which followed a fourth place run at The Southwest in February, may be a good sign for Mission Impazible considering the race conditions at the Fair Grounds may be similar to what is certain to be a soggy Churchill Downs track.
Mission Impazible comes from Derby winning stock as his grandfather, Unbridled, won the 1990 Run for the Roses. His father, Unbridled's Song, who placed fifth in the 1996 Derby, was also a multiple Grade 1 stakes winner.
Todd Pletcher, despite the long odds for Mission Impazible, thinks his horses could fare well in sloppy conditions.
"The one thing we felt like from Saturday's breezes is that all of our horses handled the wet track pretty well," Pletcher said.
Jamaican born jockey Rajiv Maragh will have Mission Impazible's mount on Saturday. Maragh guided Brave Victory to a seventh place finish at the Belmont last year. Mission Impazible will be his first Derby horse.
