Kentucky Derby 2010: Discreetly Mine 25 to 1 Derby Odds: Kentucky Derby Odds experts at online racebook BetUS.com have the Todd Pletcher trained colt Discreetly Mine listed at 25 to 1 Derby Odds in tomorrow's 136th Run for the Roses. Discreelty Mine will begin the big race from post position 15, sandwiched between Mission Impazible and Awesome Act.
Discreetly Mine did not fare that well in his last outing, placing fourth at the Louisiana Derby in late March; however,
the colt did win the 1 1/16th mile Grade 2 Risen Star in February.
To this point, Discreetly Mine's career has not been a highlight reel, but his pedigree is note worthy. Sired by Mineshaft, a multiple Grade 1 stakes winner, he comes from the same lineage as 1977 Triple Crown winner Seattle Slew. His dam, Pretty Discreet, is also a Grade 1 stakes winner, taking first place in the 1995 Alabama Stakes.
Pletcher, who guided Rags to Riches to the 2007 Kentucky Oaks and Belmont titles, was pleased with the colt's work at a sloppy Churchill Downs track this week, calling it "very good." He even went as far as to say that Discreetly Mine "seemed to like the wet track." If true, it may serve the horse well as it is expected to rain off and on in Louisville throughout the day tomorrow.
Discreetly Mine will be under Venezuelan jockey Javier Castellano in tomorrow's 136th Kentucky Derby.
