Kentucky Derby 2010: Dublin 12 to 1 Derby Odds: The 2010 Kentucky Derby is a little over a day away and the horse racing experts at online racebook SPORTSBETTING.com have set the odds for the entire 20 horse field. The D. Wayne Lukas trained Dublin is presently the sixth most favored horse to win the Run for the Roses at 12 to 1 Derby odds.
Dublin has not been able to garner a win in his three leadup races to the Derby, finishing second, third, and third in the 
Southwest (G3), Rebel Stakes (G2), and Arkansas Derby (G1) respectively.However, he does have two wins to his credit, including the Grade 1 Hopeful last September.
Dublin's pedigree is interesting in that he comes from the stamina driven Afleet Alex (2005 Preakness and Belmont winner) and sprint horse Classy Mirage. The 1 1/4 mile Derby should reveal Dublin's true makeup, which ideally will be a combination of his highly respected parents.
The William Mack and Robert Baker owned colt drew the 17 post earlier this week, but the outside position seemed to Lukas' liking.
"Where the other horses are is more important probably than where you draw," Lukas said. "That dictates your strategy. Certain horses that have certain styles are compromised by various positions. THis one complements us. We're very happy there. And I've been lucky out there, too."
Riding Dublin tomorrow will be Omaha born jockey Terry Thompson. Despite being nearly 40 years old and having his jockey license since 1993, Thompson has never had a Derby mount.
