The Kentucky Derby Predictions Experts are not giving much respect to Regal Ransom as a potential winner of the 135th Kentucky Derby today. Owned by Dubai ruler Sheik Mohammed, Regal Ransom won the $2 million dollar UAE Derby but the odds makers at internet racebook SBG Global have Regal Ransom listed as a +3000 odds long shot (Bet $100 to win $3000).
“I'll save my Godolphin rant for Desert Party,” stated VegasInsider.com Kentucky Derby Predictions Expert Anthony Stabile when asked to comment on Regal Ransom. “For now, I'm throwing this guy onto the ‘nothing more than early speed’ pile and I plan on him staying there.”
Regal Ransom looked sharp during his final workouts before heading to Churchill Downs running five furlongs in 59.20 seconds. Regal Ransom had the fastest time among the 30 horses at that distance. Trainer Saeed bin Suroor was happy with the horse and said they should be ready to go for the Derby.
“I think we have a better chance this year than ever,” stated Saeed bin Suroor. “What I like about these horses is that they are quality, and they try really hard. They improve from every race. It’s an open race on Saturday, but our horses are doing very good.”
