Kentucky Derby 2010 Paddy O’Prado 60 to 1 Derby Picks: Paddy O’Prado will be racing from the 10th gate Saturday. The weather is expected to get worse which will make for a slick muddy track. Even though Paddy O’Prado has spent most of hiss career racing on grass, his eleven owners say they wouldn’t fear a muddy track. Online racebook BODOG.com has posted horse racing betting odds to win the Kentucky Derby 2010.
Paddy O’Prado hasn’t run on dirt since last July but his owners are hopeful he’ll do
what it takes to run a good race. Paddy O’Prado turned in one of the fastest Derby workouts when he sped 5 furlongs in 58.4 seconds on a muddy track back in April. Trainer Dale Romans said, “He worked really well in the slop. I don’t think it’s going to back him up at all. There’s a good chance it’s going to move him up.”
The gloomy weather predictions for Saturday are sure to have most trainers and owners nervous. Some horses in the 2010 Kentucky Derby may not have trouble with the muddy track but may not react well to the mud kicked in their faces by the horses in front of them.
