2010 Preakness Odds Super Saver +200 Preakness Picks: Fresh off his Kentucky Derby win, Jockey Calvin Borel is confident that Super Saver could be the next Triple Crown Winner in more than 30 years. Super Saver drew the number 8 post position for Saturday's race. Online racebook SPORTSBOOK.com has posted horse racing betting odds to win the 2010 Preakness Stakes.
Even though Jockey Calvin Borel is positive about Super Saver’s chances this Saturday at the Preakness, experts and skeptics have a far different opinion. Most think Super Saver is a long shot at this point for a few different reasons. Super Saver has been shipped from race to race. Thee races in six weeks will take it’s toll. There will be plenty of rested horses at the Preakness who have been specifically bred for this type of race. Another negative for Borel and Super Saver is simply fierce competition in the hearts of other jockeys. Other jockeys and trainers will want to stop Borel at all costs, either out of jealousy or good old-fashioned competition.
The 2010 Kentucky Derby champion Super Saver worked a half-mile workout Monday at Churchill Downs with Calvin Borel. Trainer Todd Pletcher had taken a-wait-and-see-approach to whether Super Saver needed a timed workout before Preakness. Both Pletcher and Borel are confident that Super Saver has a fair shot at taking the Triple Crown this season.
The 135th Preakness is set for May 15th, 2010 in Baltimore.
