2010 Preakness Odds Northern Giant +3000 Preakness Predictions: A long shot in the 2010 Preakness odds, Northern Giant may be up against some heavy competition this Saturday. Online racebook SPORTSBOOK.com has posted horse racing betting odds to win the 2010 Preakness Stakes.

Most critics say that Northern Giant’s Preakness odds of +3000 are a bit out of whack. Mostly because he had some trouble adjusting from dirt to synthetic, then back again to dirt. This will be the Northern Giant’s second start on dirt in a row. Most of his past races had traffic trouble, start problems, and some wide turns that were forced to occur that were blamed on inexperienced jockeys.

Northern Giant will begin the Preakness race from the post #4 position. Jockey Terry Thompson will ride the colt and hopefully steer him from the wide turns he’s known for.

The 135th Preakness is set for May 15th, 2010 in Baltimore.
