2010 Preakness Stakes Picks: Paddy O'Prado 5 to 1 Preakness Odds: Donegal Racing's Paddy O'Prado will look to follow up his strong Derby run with another solid effort today in the 135th Preakness Stakes. Paddy O'Prado does not have a great deal of wins attached to his name, but the colt most certainly knows how finish 
in the money. The son of El Prado has one win, two second place finishes, and three third place showings in seven career starts. Prior to showing at the Kentucky Derby, Paddy placed in another Grade I race, the Blue Grass Stakes at Keeneland.
Despite starting a little to the outside in today's Preakness, trainer Dale Romans likes the position for his horse.
"Paddy didn't have a problem with the 10-hole in the Derby and I'd like to have him on the inside of First Dude," Romans said. "It gives us a few more options."
Romans also indicated that the colt seemed unphased by the 1 1/4 mile Run for the Roses.
"He bounced out of the Derby as though he never ran," Romans said. "That's why we're here. We normally wouldn't wheel one back in two weeks."
Riding Paddy O'Prado today is one of the most decorated jockeys in the history of horse racing, Kent Desormeaux. Desormeaux, a native of Louisiana, has won all three legs of the Triple Crown series, including two Preakness titles with Real Quiet (1998) and Big Brown (2008). Desormeaux piloted Summer Bird to victory at Belmont last year.
Today's race is scheduled to begin at 4:30pm ET on NBC; it will take place at the legendary Pimlico Racetrack in Baltimore, Maryland.
