 Once again, the 2009 Preakness Predictions Experts have posted head to head match up odds that are too close to call and this time its for Mine That Bird vs Musket Man. Despite winning the 2009 Kentucky Derby, the odds makers at online racebook Bodog.com have listed Musket Man and Mine That Bird at –115 odds in this match up.Mine That Bird will be running out of the 2nd post position with replacement jockey Mike Smith guiding him. This does not seem to phase trainer Bennie "Chip" Woolley Jr. and the odds makers are still giving the colt respect to win the race outright. Bodog.com has Mine That Bird listed a respectable 6 to 1 odds, a far cry from the 50 to 1 odds they gave him before the Derby. "When Calvin and his agent let us know this was a possibility, we made some calls, did some research and decided on Mike," stated Mine That Bird trainer Bennie (Chip) Woolley Jr. when asked about selecting a new jockey for Mine That Bird in the 2009 Preakness Stakes. "He rides patient. The pressure won't get to him because he's been through it all before. He's a great rider with great instincts. I'm not worried." Trained by Derek Ryan, Musket Man won the Illinois Derby with jockey Eibar Coa on his back. For the 2009 Preakness Stakes, Musket Man will be once again ridden by Coa out of the 3rd post. Bodog.com has listed Musket Man at 10 to 1 odds to win the race outright. "He will run in the Preakness and not the Belmont," stated trainer Derek Ryan about his 2009 Preakness Predictions contender Musket Man. "After the Preakness, I want to have him ready for the Haskell here. That's the main goal this summer. I'll get there as late as possible."
