Belmont Bets Chocolate Candy 12 to 1 Belmont Stakes Odds: Belmont Bets at internet racebook Bodog.com have Chocolate Candy, the fifth place finisher at the 135th Run for the Roses, listed at 12 to 1 Belmont Stakes Odds to win the third leg of the Triple Crown this Saturday in Elmont, New York. The Candy Ride sired colt will start the race from the No. 1 post. 
Chocolate Candy performed well at California's synthetic race tracks prior to his respectable Derby run, finishing first in both the California Derby and the El Camino Real Derby at Golden Gate Fields and second at the Santa Anita Derby.
Candy, who skipped to the Preakness Stakes, has been training at the Belmont race track since the 7th of May. Exercise rider Lindsey Molina is intrigued at the possibilites for Chocolate Candy once things get underway this weekend.
"He has progressed very well since he first got here," Molina said. "Now, all I can say is, he just skips over the track. I'm very interested to see how this horse runs. If he runs the way he trains…he's going to be tough."
Belmont Bets expert Anthony Stabile of VegasInsider.com made the following statement in regard to the colt:
"Chocolate Candy is hoping the 1.5 miles at the Belmont will be the great equalizer that it has been in many past running. [He] ran well to be fifth at the Derby, his conventional dirt debut, and should relish the added distance of the Belmont and if the weather cooperates, it will be his first run over a dry dirt track."
Two time Eclispe Award winner, jockey Garrett Gomez, will have the reins of Chocolate Candy on Saturday. Gomez' best finish at the Belmont is fourth.
The 2009 Belmont Stakes will take place Saturday, June 6th at Belmont Park. The event can be seen live on ABC; coverage of the 141st running of the Belmont Stakes is scheduled to begin at 5:00pm ET.
