2010 Belmont: First Dude 4 to 1 Belmont Odds: The Dale Romans trained Frist Dude will make his second Triple Crown appearance today as he seeks to follow up his solid Preakness run with a win at Belmont Park. 2010 Belmont Odds at SBGglobal.com have Frist Dude listed at 4 to 1 to win the third jewel of the prestigious series. Today's race is scheduled to get underway at 6:30pm ET; coverage for the event begins at 5:00pm ET on ABC.
First Dude was sired by Stephen Got Even, who was a product of former Belmont champion A.P. Indy. Dude's dam, Run 
Sarah Run, was more of a sprinter, though, with her longest win coming at 6.5 furlongs. The colt's breeding, and past performance, has led to the perception that he might be the pace of the event. However, Romans believes he could be much more than that.
"We're definitely going to be on, or close, to the lead," Romans said. "If someone wants to get out of their game and set him down inside of us, we'll let him go and sit right off. If they let him get three-quarters in 1:14 like Seattle Slew, He'll be tough to catch."
First Dude had a lackluster showing at the G1 Florida Derby in March, placing fifth; however, the horse followed up that mediocre performance with at third place run at the Bluegrass Stakes in April and a second place finish at the Preakness Stakes two weekends ago.
Venezuelan jockey Ramon Dominguez will have Dude's mount in today's race. Dominguez, who has been aboard the colt in his last three runs, has raced in the Belmont just one other time. He finished eighth with Caiman in 2004 at the classic event.
First Dude and Dominguez drew post 11 for this evening's race.
