Stay Put enters today's race fresh off an Allowance victory last month. The win was the colt's second Allowance triumph, 
giving him three career victories counting his maiden. However, Stay Put has not performed well in his two graded stakes attempts, taking fifth at the G2 Risen Star Stakes in February and fifth at the G2 Louisiana Derby in March.
Stay Put's distance pedigree is also a question mark. While the colt was sired by Broken Vow, the son of Derby and Breeders' Cup Classic winner Unbridled, his dam, O.K. Mom, was a sprinter. Positioning will be key for the horse as he makes his way into the first turn.
Theriot, who participated in his first classic race at the Preakness in 2008, will have Stay Put's mount for today's run. Theriot has been aboard the colt in six of his seven career races. This evening will mark the 31 year old Louisiana native's maiden voyage at the Belmont Stakes.
