2010 Belmont Stakes Picks: Uptowncharlybrown 12 to 1 Belmont Odds: The third leg of the Triple Crown series will take place today as the 142nd running of the Belmont Stakes gets underway at 6:30pm ET on ABC. 2010 Belmont Stakes Picks at online racebook SBGglobal.com have the Kiaran McLaughlin trained Uptowncharlybrown listed at 12 to 1 Belmont Odds. Uptowncharlybrown, who has raced outside of his home track in Tampa Bay just once, broke his maiden in December of 
2009. Since that victory, the colt has garnered two third place showings and one fifth place finish. Uptowncharlybrown last ran at the G2 Lexington Stakes at Keeneland, where he took third with veteran jockey Garret Gomez on the mount.
Uptowncharlybrown has a respectable pedigree, but it does lack some distance as his sire Limestone never won a race over 1 1/8 miles. That has McLaughlin slightly concerned, but he indicated the distance of the Belmont is usually on the mind of all the trainers.
"The distance is a question mark, but it's a question mark for everybody," McLaughlin said. "This horse has a big stride and gallops out strong, always. He's ready to go, so we're happy."
Jamaican born rider Rajiv Maragh will guide Uptowncharlybrown in today's 1 1/2 miles Belmont turn. The 24 year old Maragh had his first Belmont mount last year; he finished seventh aboard Brave Victory.
Uptowncharlybrown drew the three post for today's Triple Crown race, leaving only longshots Dave In Dixie and Spangled Star to his inside.
