Breeders Cup Picks Einstein 15 to 1 Breeders Cup Odds: Breeders' Cup odds makers at online bookmaker BetUS.com have installed Brazilian stallion Einstein at 12 to 1 odds to win the 26th Breeders' Cup Classic this Saturday at Santa Anita Park in Arcadia, California. The race is scheduled to begin at 6:45pm ET tomorrow night; it will broadcast live on ESPN. Einstein will start the race for the No. 8 post.
Einstein, who is trained by Helen Pitts-Blasi, enters this weekend's race with a 6-2-1-2 2009 record and earnings of over
$1.2 million. The stallion last raced in the Pacific Classic Stakes at Del Mar in early September where he took second place. The horse has two wins this year as well, including the Santa Anita Handicap back in March and the Woodford Reserve Turf Classic Stakes at Churchill Downs in May.
Pitts-Blasi, who is vying to be the first female trainer to win the Classic, warmed up the horse yesterday with a gallop on the main track.
"He galloped strong," Pitts-Blasi said. "He was very strong. My arms were burning by the time we got through."
Einstein, who was sired by 1985 American Horse of the Year Spend A Buck, will be mounted by French jockey Julien Leparoux. Leparoux has 12 previous Breeders' Cup starts, in which he garnered two wins, one second, and one third. Last year he rode Forever Together to first place in the Filly & Mare Turf run at the Breeders' Cup. The 26 year old Leparoux should be familiar with Einstein as he has had the mount for the horse's last seven races.
