See if she can beat the boys in the 2009 Breeders' Cup Classic this evening at the Oak Tree at Santa Anita in Arcadia, California. The 1 1/4 mile race, which is the capstone to the weekend's festivities, is scheduled to get started at 6:45pm ET on ESPN. 

Zenyatta, the daughter of Street Cry, enters today's race unbeaten in 13 career starts. She last raced in October, winning the Lady's Secret Stakes at Oak Tree at Santa Anita. Prior to that she won the Clement L. Hirsch Stakes at Del Mar in August. Today's race will be her fifth this year and her fourth career outing at the Oak Tree racetrack.

Given Zenyatta's background, trainer John Shirreffs and owners Jerry and Ann Moss feel they have a winner on their hands.

"Optimism is high," Jerry Moss said.

Riding Zenyatta in tonight's Classic will be Hall of Fame jockey Mike Smith. Smith has had the mount for every single Zenyatta race this season and he also rode her to victory in last year's Breeders' Cup Ladies Classic. Smith, who has no shortage of experience in Breeders' Cup racing, recording 12 wins in 61 career starts, likes the mare's chances this evening.

"She's ready," Smith said. "If she fires, she's certainly going to be the one to beat. I think you're going to see something amazing."
