Online racebook BetUS.com has posted their 2007 Kentucky Derby betting odds listing Circular Quay at 7 to 1 making it one of the favorites. Jockey John Velazquez will be riding Circular Quay, who was trained by Todd Pletcher. Post time for the 2007 Kentucky Derby is at 6:04 PM EST.
Horse racing expert Anthony Stabile of VegasInsider.com had this to say about Circular Quay, “Since his win in the Bashford Manor, which just so happened to be at Churchill last summer, I’ve been sold on this horse. Along with ‘Nobiz’ he’s probably the most talented of this crop. Then, to overcome the near catastrophe in the Risen Star it showed that he had plenty of heart to go along with his immense talent. Don’t let the Louisiana Derby fool you. This horse has a bit more speed than he showed and I think he’ll be laying closer in the Derby. I know the eight week layoff appears scary, but he’s training consistently well for this and actually won the Hopeful last season off a similar layoff. Also, take note that Johnny V has won aboard all 5 Pletcher runners in here and chose to ride him. If ‘Nobiz’ stubs his toe, this guy is next in line. My second pick. Using him in all exotic wagers as well as in some of my Pick 4 wagers.”
