C P West has a great pedigree but is a young inexperienced horse still developing. He has a small handful of sprint starts to his credit. C P West ran neck-and-neck with a more experienced rival in the $250k Futurity Stakes at Belmont Park back in September, 2006. On April 28th he came in second place for the $150k Withers Stakes at Aqueduct. C P West is from the first crop of young sire, Came Home, winner of the Santa Anita Derby and Pacific Classic. After his victory in the $100k Derby Trial Stakes at Churchill Downs, five time Preakness Stakes winner D. Wayne Lukas has stated Flying First Class is a very talented horse. "You don't run :44 here and 1:08 and not have some talent….we were back where we needed to be." His recent works include; on May 8 – Five furlongs breezing in :58.60 at Churchill Downs and on May 15 – Four furlongs breezing in :49.80 at Churchill Downs. Flying First Class is owned by Ellwood W.
