Online racebook Bodog.com has posted odds on UScat Daddy at 10 to 1 to win the 2007 Kentucky Derby. Scat Daddy will be ridden by legendary jockey Edgar Prado and was trained by Todd Pletcher. Edgar Prado rode Barbaro to a 6 1/2 lengths victory in the 2006 Kentucky Derby.
Horse racing expert Anthony Stabile of VegasInsider.com had this to say about Scat Daddy, “I obviously am in love with ‘Nobiz’ so logic would dictate that I’m fond of the horse that has beaten him in two of their three meetings. The only problem is no one ever said I was a logical man. I think this horse has serious distance limitations and is another that has benefited from being in the right place at the right time. He shouldn’t have won the Florida Derby last out, Chelokee should have. And if ‘Nobiz’ would have seen him coming in the Fountain of Youth that would have probably had a different outcome as well. Another I can see people liking, as he is the only two time Grade 1 winner in the field but if he’s around at the end, I’ll be tearing my tickets up. I’m taking a pass.”
