With the 2007 Kentucky Derby this weekend, let's take a look at some prize ponies and some poison ponies. I’m not going to waste any time telling you horse hunters to stay away from some of the more popular names like Circular Quay, Cowton Cat, Curlin, Liquidity, Nobiz Like Shobiz, Hard Spun, Tiagro, Street Sense, and Dominican. You might be thinking that you had one of these horses all ready to go for your win bet. Street Sense has been especially popular because he has beaten Any Given Saturday and he killed the field at the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile. We want to fade this horse however because his style doesn’t matchup well with what it takes to win at Churchill Downs. He won’t hold up well in a physical race with lots of bumping like you’ll see in the upcoming Derby. Nobiz Like Shobiz is another horse you may have been all set to take action on. Don’t even think about placing your win bet on him. The Fountain of Youth, where he placed third, was a foreshadowing of what you’ll see at the Derby. Too much bumping was the excuse for his disappointing finish at that track. Start winning today with a Kentucky Derby predictions from Jeff Alexander Sports If you were leaning toward action with Zanjero, Cobalt Blue, Stormello, Sam P, or Any Given Saturday, you are on the right track. Long shots are where the value lies and where the serious Derby dollars can be won, but Any Given Saturday’s resume makes him my personal favorite. He is among the contenders and has three first place finishes, two second place notches, and a third place finish under his hoof. Looking beyond the horse and to the company he keeps we see Todd Pletcher who was been honored with the nation’s top trainer award three years running. This guy set a record last year for total purse amount won for a reason. He knows what it takes to get his horses ready for the rugged Derby track. Whether you’re betting straight or exotic, Any Given Saturday will be your key money maker. Point-Spreads.com contributing sports expert Jeff Alexander started handicapping to ensure that the average sports bettor has the best chance at making a profit. Nobody outworks Jeff and the result is winning season after winning season. 2006 showed unmatched success by hitting 65% in the NFL and nearly every big game he put out.
