Internet racebook Bodog.com has posted horse race betting odds making Circular Quay 4 to 1 to win the Preakness 2007. Circular Quay will be ridden by John Velazquez who is making his debut at Pimlico in Preakness 2007. The horse was trained by Todd Pletcher and will start in the third gate.
Horse Racing Expert Handicapper Anthony Stabile of VegasInsider.com had this to say about Circular Quay's chanced in Preakness 2007, "I have been in love with this horse since the first time I had seen him winning a Churchill stakes race last summer. I don't think anyone connected with him could have imagined his three year old campaign turning out the way it has thus far. He almost fell down in the Risen Star, galloped in the Louisiana Derby then didn't run for eight weeks leading up to the Derby. In the Derby, breaking from post 16, he lollygagged at the back of the pack, made up some ground approaching the turn, bumped with Stormello, then ran home well to finish sixth, beaten 1 1/2 lengths for third. When you take it all into consideration, it wasn't that bad of an effort. He certainly deserved another crack at Street Sense, and now he'll get it and it won't be at Churchill Downs. I think he'll be laying closer in the here, they'll be plenty of speed for him to set up his late run and I like the fact that Johnny V. stayed aboard. Plus, he'll be 8-1 or better. The top pick, I'm playing him to win, keying him on top in all my exotics and using him in my Pick 3's and Pick 4's."
