Online racebook Bodog.com has made Zanjero a 30 to 1 long shot to win the 133rd Kentucky Derby. Zanjero will be ridden by Shaun Bridgmohan and was trained by Steve Asmussen. Post time will be at 6:04 PM EST.
Expert Horse Handicapper Anthony Stabile of VegasInsider.com has stated this about Zanjero, "I love the determination and grit this horse runs with. Always seems to be digging in. A great attribute in a race that can be extremely tough on a horse. Has finished third in all three starts this season that just happened to be some of the better preps of the year as well. In fact, I think he’d have won the Blue Grass last out if he’s on the outside as opposed to being on the rail. Owns a win over the course and is reunited with Bridgmohan who is a perfect two for two aboard him. On the flip side, he may be just a notch below. Using him strong underneath in all exotic wagers and may actually make a small saver bet to win on him if he’s 35-1 or 40-1."
