The Pittsburgh Panthers have gotten off to a rough start despite their 2-1 record. Head Coach Dave Wannstedt's team was suppose to be one of the more improved clubs in the country, but they dropped their opener to Bowling Green and have sneaked by Buffalo and Iowa. Pittsburgh earned a hard fought win last week against the Iowa Hawkeyes, and Panther fans are hopeful that it kicks starts a team that has been a little sluggish to begin the year. Pittsburgh is averaging just 21.7 points per game while allowing 21 points per game. Even in their win last weekend they had 102 fewer yards than Iowa. They have also been prone to giving the ball away, averaging 2.3 turnovers per game this season.

The Syracuse Orange are having another dismal year under Head Coach Greg Robinson. They have garnered just one win and in their three losses, they have been beat by an average of 25 points. Offensively they are generating 294 yards per game, and the defense is giving away 475 yards per game, which opponents have turned into a 37 point per game average.

They will certainly need to step up their efforts this week against Pitt to stay in the game. Last week, in their only win of the season, they allowed FCS school, Northeastern, to post 383 yards on offense.
