When betting on college football it’s always good to know who’s really good and really bad. It’s no surprise to anyone; the University of Washington Huskies meets the latter category. This team is very bad. How bad are they? How about 0-6 bad and after they play a so-so Notre Dame team today they will undoubtedly make it to 0-7.

The great thing about the Huskies is they are great to bet against as they usually manage to come up short against the betting spread. So far in 2008, Washington has managed to go 1-5 ATS. The one game they covered came back in week 2 in a loss to BYU. Since then, it’s all been down hill. One interesting betting trend I find with Washington is it has scored double digit points in all its games while at the same time giving up points by the bushel full. This has resulted in the OVER cashing on the total in 3-of-5 board listed games.
After being one of the worst teams last year, the Irish seemed to have bounced back at least to respectability. Notre Dame is 4-2 SU, and has been kind to its betting backers by covering the spread in 4-of-6 games. The OVER has surpassed the posted total, also in 4-of-6 games.
This meeting will be the seventh all-time meeting between the two schools and fourth ever matchup in Husky Stadium. Notre Dame has won all six previous meetings, including a 36-17 triumph in 2005. The Irish have beaten Washington by at least 19 points in five of the six all-time games.
Former Notre Dame head coach Tyrone Willingham is in his third year at Washington. Saturday's matchup will be the second time in Notre Dame history the Irish will face one of their former head coaches on the opposing sideline.
