2009 NBA Draft Odds: The 2009 NBA Draft is scheduled to take place at 7:00pm ET tomorrow night at Madison Square Garden in New York. The two round event will be televised live on ESPN. Online bookmaker Sportsbook.com has released their Draft matchups and Davidson sharp-shooter Stephen Curry (-170) is presently favored to be taken ahead of Syracuse point guard Jonny Flynn (+130) in their 2009 NBA Draft Odds. 2009 NBA Draft Odds

Stephen Curry, the son of former NBA three point specialist Dell Curry, is projected to be a top ten pick in tomorrow's draft. The 6'3" guard, who played at both the shooting and point positions in his three years at Davidson, could be a nice fit with the New York Knicks, who have the eighth pick in tomorrow's draft. Curry would, seemingly, be prepared to step right into a starting role in Mike D'Antoni's fast paced offensive attack.

Curry should have little trouble scoring the ball as he has averaged 25.3 points per game for his college career. Playing the point last year for the Wildcats, the 21 year old junior posted averages of 28.6 points and 5.6 assists per game, both career highs. Davidson missed the NCAA's after losing to the College of Charleston in the Southern Conference tournament.

The knock on Curry, who burst onto the scene in 2008 with a torrid Davidson run to the Regional Finals in the NCAA Tournament, is how his slight frame (181lbs.) will hold up defensively against some of the bigger, stronger guards in the NBA. However, in D'Antoni's system this would not be as big an issue as his quick hands (2.1 steals per game in college) would be more of a factor than his lack of size.

Jonny Flynn, like Curry, lacks size but he is an incredibly talented point man with the kind of attitude and ball skills that should help him succeed at the next level. At 6'1" and 196lbs. Flynn will have his work cut out for him in the NBA, but as he demonstrated in a tough Big East conference, he has the ability to thrive in difficult circumstances.

Last season, the 20 year old Niagra Falls native averaged 17.4 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 6.7 assist per game. He led his squad to a Sweet 16 appearance in the NCA Tournament before falling to Oklahoma 71-84.

Most projections have Flynn going inside the top ten as well, usually to either the Raptors at nine or the Milwaukee Bucks at 10.
