Syracuse vs Penn State College Football Predictions, College Football Picks & College Football Odds: Unfortunately for Syracuse fans, new Head Coach Doug Marrone and his Orange are in State College, Pennsylvania this weekend, which is probably not the ideal spot to rebound from a hard fought home loss. Nevertheless, the Orange will strap it up against the Nittany Lions at 12:00pm ET tomorrow at Beaver Stadium; the game will be broadcast live on the Big 10 Network. College football predictions at Bodog.com have Joe Paterno's squad listed as a -28.5 against the spread favorite. The Doug Marrone era got off to a rough start as his team fell Quarterback and former Duke hoopster Greg Paulus acquitted himself well for someone who probably has played very little football over the past four years. The senior completed 19-of-31 passes for 167 yards and touchdown. Unfortunately for Marrone and the Orange, Paulus' one mistake occurred in overtime when he tossed an interception in the endzone. Paulus' miscue was not the only thing that doomed Syracuse, however. The Orange managed just 257 yards of offense, converted one third down in 13 attempts, and committed eight penalites for a total of 68 yards. Those numbers might be worse this weekend against a far superior Penn State squad. The No. 7 ranked Nittany Lions made quick work of the Akron Zips on Saturday, jumping out to a 31-0 halftime lead. Penn State put it in cruise control in the second half to bring home an easy 31-7 win. Daryl Clark had an excellent day under center, throwing for 353 yards and three touchdowns. Clark guided the Lions to 515 total yards with the help of wide receiver Derek Moye and running back Evan Royster. Moye caught six passes for 138 yards and a score while Royster ran for 61 yards and a touchdown in just 14 carries. Penn State's defense destoyed the Zips offensive attack, limiting Akron to 186 yards on the day. J.D. Brockhart's troops converted just three third downs and averaged a paltry 3.4 yards per play. Lions linebacker Nathan Stupar led the defense with 12 tackles and a sack.
