Florida ran its record to 8-0 and broke a string of tightly contested games last weekend, pounding Georgia 41-17 in Jacksonville. The win was the Gators sixth against a conference foe and it all but guaranteed them the SEC East title. Quarterback Tim Tebow provided most of the offense against the Bulldogs as he completed 15-of-21 passes for 164 yards and two touchdowns. He also led the team in rushing with 85 yards and two scores in just 18 carries.

The Gators defense held Georgia to 16 first downs and 286 totals yards; they also forced four Bulldog turnovers. The unit is allowing just 11 points and 236.6 yards per game on the season, numbers that do not bode well for a Commodores offense that averages just 18.2 points per contest.

Vanderbilt lost its fifth consecutive game last Saturday, falling at home to No. 10 Georgia Tech. The non-conference loss dropped the Commodores record to 2-7 overall; they are 0-5 in SEC play and in last place in the East division. The Yellow Jackets had no trouble moving the ball against Vandy's mediocre defense, racking up 28 first downs and 597 total yards (404 rush yards). The Commodores offense did have a better than usual day, posting 397 yards, but they also had three turnovers.
