Point-Spreads.com has acquired a copy of a sworn declaration by the person that was served the papers in Costa Rica, Ana Victoria Mora Flores. Ana Victoria was previously an employee of Bodog Entertainment up until October 2006, at which time the company moved its corporate headquarters from Costa Rica to Antigua. It turns out, Ana Victoria was never an officer or director of any entity owned by Bodog Entertainment and certainly was never authorized to accept service for any Bodog related company.
"We are for sure business as usual," stated Bodog Entertainment Founder Calvin Ayre to Point-Spreads.com two days ago. "After day one there was nothing different except I hear that the Costa Rican company that we were paying to hold those domains for us has got a busy legal agenda in front of them. The company that is in that lawsuit is not part of the Bodog Group of operating gaming companies so whatever happens to it will have no affect on us now."
With the news of the Bodog/Mohawk deal, it appears that 1st Technology picked a fight with some tough North American Indians and what happened to Bodog is the equivalent of a back alley mugging. In our opinion, if there is any justice left in the American legal system, the Bodog domain name portfolio should be returned to its proper owners until at the very least the merits of the patent infringement case is resolved by the courts.
