Affliction Entertainment in association with Golden Boy Promotions and Donald J Trump will hold its second MMA event this evening at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California. Affliction: Day of Reckoning, which can be seen live on Pay-per view at 9:00pm ET, is headlined by a match-up between heavyweights Fedor Emelianenko and Andrei Arlovsky. Affliction: Day of Reckoning betting odds at BetUS.com have Fedor listed as a -375 moneyline favorite. Emelianenko, the last PRIDE Heavyweight Champion and the current World Alliance of Mixed Martial Arts Heavyweight Champ, last fought in July of 2008 at Affliction: Banned, when he took out former UFC Heavyweight Champion Tim Slyvia just 36 seconds into round one. The quick victory was the 29th of the famed Russian's professional MMA career and his 16th via submission. The six foot, 235 pound Emelianenko is largely considered the best heavyweight MMA fighter on the planet and his impressive list of victims includes the likes of Kevin Randleman, Heath Herring, Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira, Mark Coleman, Matt Lindland and Mirko "Cro Cop". He is known for his skill in Sambo and his ability to carry out a variety of submissions as well as his quick and powerful striking capabilites. Andrei "The Pitbull" Arlovsky, a former UFC Heavyweight Champion, is an imposing fighter in his own right. He also competed at Affliction: Banned and took out former IFL star Ben Rothwell by knockout in the fight's last round. Arlovsky followed that performance up by knocking out current IFL Champion, Roy Nelson, at an EliteXC event in October of 2008. The 6'4" Belarusian has a 15-5 MMA record with 11 knockouts, three submissions, and one decision. He is well versed in Sambo and Brazillian Jiu Jitsu but mostly employees his boxing and kickboxing skills in the ring.
