Elite XC-Stikeforce: Frank Shamrock vs Cung LeThe Strikeforce World Middleweight Championship is on the line this Saturday evening as Elite XC- Strikforce showcases two of the most exciting MMA middleweights in the world today and of course Sportsbook.com will have all of the odds.

Frank “The Legend” Shamrock (-180) may not be the household name of his older brother Ken, but anyone who has watched MMA over the years will tell you that he is the superior talent.  In his 13+ years of MMA fighting, the chiseled Shamrock has defeated some of the legends of MMA.  Although submissions are the strength of Shamrock’s fight game, he is also very skilled at standing on his feet and striking as he proved in his June 22nd throttling of Phil Baroni.

Despite his well rounded fight game, in order to retain his Championship this Saturday Shamrock will be better served trying to take the fight to the ground.  Although Shamrock’s opponent, Cung Le (+150), only has five (5-0) MMA fights on his resume; he is not a novice by any means in the fight game. A world class kick boxer, Le also is an expert in various types of Judo takedowns and throws.  Thanks to his versatile striking game and flawless takedowns, Le brings a truly unique fighting style to the MMA world.  In his five fights, all have ended by either KO or TKO and most by devastating fashion. In his arsenal, Le throws some of the fastest and most entertaining kicks you will ever see.

“Watching Le fight is like watching those old Kung Fu movies,” stated Sportsbook.com Spokesman Dave Staley. “It is rare to see any mixed martial artist routinely throw such a wide variety of kicks with such precision.”

Le has yet to be tested on the ground which will most likely be Shamrock’s strategy from the opening bell. If Le can avoid staying off the mat, one would think the advantage goes to the MMA newcomer and underdog.

“Whether you think this fight will go to the ground or not, this is a must watch for all MMA fans,” stated Staley. “Besides their fighting prowess, the thing that these two fighters have in common is the fact that they always give the fans their monies worth.”
