UFC 112 Odds: The UFC is back in action tonight as Anderson Silva and BJ Penn defend their championship belts at UFC 112 INVINCIBLE in Abu Dhabi, United Arad Emirates. Silva is slated to take on Demian Maia while Penn will go toe to toe with New Jersey native Frankie Edgar. UFC 112 Odds at online bookmaker SBGglobal.com have Penn listed as a -800 moneyline favorite to retain his lightweight belt. This evening's event is scheduled to begin at 10:00pm ET; it can be seen live on Pay-Per-View.
BJ Penn will make his fourth title defense when he takes on Edgar this evening. The Hilo, Hawaii native captured the belt 
with a submission win over Joe Stevenson in January of 2008 and has subsequently taken out Sean Sherk, Kenny Florian, and Deigo Sanchez. Penn's only loss in his last six fights came in a welterweight clash with Georges St-Pierre in January of last year.
The 31 year old Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt won decisively over Sanchez in his last appearance in the Octagon, taking out "Nightmare" with a TKO at 2:32 in the fifth round.
Penn, who seems more relaxed these days, offered no smack talk about Edgar, opting to praise him instead.
"Frankie Edgar is not a guy to look past," Penn said. "Anybody who looks past Frankie Edgar is going to end up with another loss on their record. Frankie is a great opponent and I have to go out there and do my best."
Based upon Edgar's record, Penn is correct in his assessment. The 28 year old former plumber has pieced together an 11-1 mixed martial arts record and he is 6-1 in the UFC. Edgar's only loss came in 2008 when he fell via unanimous decision to Gray Maynard. Since that setback he has beaten Hermes Franca, Sean Sherk, and Matt Veach.
Like Penn, Edgar had nothing but good things to say about his opposition.
"It's an honor to fight BJ, he's the best lightweight in the world," Edgar said.
