In the first round, Hardonk landed several kicks to Kongo's midsection before Cheick clenched on to Antoni against the octagon. The referee separated the two fighters after the action was slowing down. Once seperated, Hardonk fell to the ground and Kongo would not let him get up. The referee finally had him get up and the stand up fight started again. With about one minute thirty seconds left in the round, Kongo attempted to go for the take down and finally got Hardonk down to the ground with one minute left. Hardonk kept the guard high which prevented Kongo from doing a lot of damage as the bell rang to the end the round.
Kongo jumped on Hardonk after the dutchman got hit in the thigh. Kongo was able to land a few nice shots to the face as Hardonk attempted to pass the guard. One of the bombs opened a cut on Hardonk's face. After a few minutes of crushing face shots, Hardonk was finally struck hard enough to get him to curl up into a ball to cover up from the vicious attack by Kongo. The fight was ended by the referee with a couple minutes left in the second round.

The Brazilian came out in a south paw stance at the start of the first round and was striking out to size up Cantwell. Cane kept throwing combination punches backing Cantwell against the octagon a few times but Cantwell would always come back swinging. There were several combinations exchanged between the two fighters in round one but the edge in the round goes to Luiz Cane.
At the start of the second round, Cantwell came out swinging and back Cane up but Luiz was able to land a few direct shots to the face which snapped Steve's head back. Cantwell was able to land several right hands that stunned Cane with two minutes left in the round. While he was unable to take Cane out, Cantwell did win the round two.
Cantwell was the aggressor at the start of the third round but with about four minutes left in the round, Cane landed a few body kicks which slowed Cantwell down. At the three minute mark, Luiz Cane was able to land a knee to the head and kick to the face combination on Cantwell. Cane went for a the first take down attempt at the two minute mark but Steve quickly backed out of it before Luiz could get his arms set around Cantwell's legs.
With one minute twenty second left in the third and final round, Cane landed several shots to the face that had Cantwell back peddling a bit. Both men stood toe to toe attempting to strike one another as the bell rang to end the fight.
