Early UFC 114 Betting Odds: For fans of The Ultimate Fighter series, UFC 114 cannot get here soon enough. Hold fast fight fans, the long awaited meeting between "Rampage" Jackson and Rashad Evans is a little over two weeks away. Oddsmakers at BetUS.com are predicting a tightly contested battle between the two bitter rivals when they enter the Octagon on May 29th at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas; however, early UFC 114 betting odds have Jackson listed as a slim -125 moneyline favorite.
The animosity between "Rampage" Jackson and Rashad Evans has been building for over a year as the Jackson-Jardine fight
that set Evans off took place in March of 2009. Their turn as opposing coaches on season 10 of The Ultimate Fighter only added fuel to the fire with the two repeatedly on the verge of blows during filming of the show. Sadly, the season did not conclude with them squaring off in the Octagon.
Jackson accepted the role of B.A. Baracus in the upcoming "A-Team" movie, leading to the temporary postponement of his scheduled meeting with Evans. Evans instead earned a unanimous decision win over Thiago Silva in January.
And, as if anymore interest could be added to this fight, Mauricio Rua's knockout of Lyoto Machida last Saturday opened the door for the winner of the Jackson-Evans battle to face the Brazilian for another shot at the light heavyweight title.
"Rampage", who lost to Rua via TKO when the two were still in PRIDE, has just one thing on his mind, though, and it is not the championship belt.
"I'm not training to beat Rashad Evans," Jackson said. "I'm training to destroy him."
