The Ultimate Fighter 9 will conclude tonight with welterweights DaMarques Johnson and James Wilks squaring off in the Octagon for the right to be a UFC fighter. Johnson is the only American to make it into a final match as the lightweight title fight will be between Brits Ross Pearson and Andre Winner. DaMarques Johnson, the 26 year old from Salt Lake City, Utah, will carry the load for the American team when he enters the Octagon with James Wilks tonight. Johnson, who is 9-6 as a professional fighter, has been impressive on the show, displaying the potential to be a well-rounded combatant with a possible bright future in the UFC.

Johnson, never one to mince words on the show, made it clear how he feels about Wilks and what he wants to do to him this evening.

"James is such a pompous prick," Johnson said. "That dude, I don't what it is, his mannerisms, his f**king face just tugs on my life cord and makes me want to hurt somebody."

As for Wilks, the Englishman who is fighting out of Laguna Hills, California, he too has been imposing in his Ultimate Fighter Octagon appearances. The 31 year old picked apart American Frank Lester on two seperate occasions to earn a spot in tonight's proceedings. Wilks exploited Lester's haymaker striking tactics and repeatedly took advantage of openings the American left to win both fights with relative ease.

Wilks has heard all the talk from Johnson, but he feels that he has what it takes to get the job done at The Pearl.

"I was confident when I got here and I'm confident I'll win this finale," Wilks said.
