Strikeforce Fedor vs Werdum Betting Odds: Fedor "The Last Emperor" Emelianenko returns to the cage tonight as Strikeforce and M1-Global present Fedor vs Werdum at the HP Pavilion tonight in San Jose, California. Fedor Emelianenko, considered by many to be the best pound-for-pound fighter in mixed martial arts, will make his 
second appearance for the Strikeforce promotion this evening when he steps into the cage with Werdum. The Ukrainian fighter last fought in November when he scored a second round TKO over then undefeated heavyweight Brett Rogers at the Sears Centre in Chicago.
Emelianenko, who owns a 31-1-1 MMA record, suffered a serious cut on his nose in the bout with Rogers, and, surprisingly, did not perform that well against the Minnesota native in the first round. However, all it took was one mistake by Rogers in the second round and Fedor capitalized with a big right hand that ended the fight.
The heavy-handed Russian, who is adept both on his feet and on the ground, will face a different challenge in Werdum, though. The Brazilian fighter, who has fought for both PRIDE and the UFC, is more tactical than Rogers and has submitted a number of opponents in route to a 13-4-1 record.
Werdum is 4-1 in his last five fights, losing only to rising star Junior Dos Santos in his final UFC appearance in October of 2008. The 6' 4" jiu-jitsu black belt is 2-0 since joining Strikeforce and he enjoyed a unanimous decision win over Antonio "Bigfoot" Silva last November. Werdum also owns wins over Fedor's brother, Alexsander Emelianenko, and current Strikeforce heavyweight champion Alistair Overeem.
