Brock Lesnar makes his long awaited return to the Octagon on Saturday to face the man many consider the most

The illness nearly derailed the former NCAA wrestling star's MMA career entirely; however, Lesnar was able to avoid a surgery that would have removed several feet of his colon, thus speeding his recovery and saving him from an early retirement.
The hulking Lesnar does not have a great deal of experience inside the cage, but he is 4-1 as a professional mixed martial artist. The champ also has TKO wins over the aforementioned Mir, a former heavyweight champion, as well as UFC Hall of Famer Randy Couture.
Shane Carwin, a NCAA Division II wrestling National Champion and All-American football player, enters Saturday's fight with an impressive fight resume too. The 35 year old, who hold degees in Mechanical Engineering and Environmental Technology, possesses an unblemished 12-0 mixed martial arts record. Carwin is 5-0 since joining the UFC in 2005 with all of his victories coming inside the first round by either knockout or submission.
The Denver native last fought in March, scoring a first round knockout of Frank Mir that resulted in him being crowned interim heavyweight champ. Prior to his banishment of Mir, Carwin planted Gabriel Gonzaga on the canvas at 1:09 in the first round at UFC 96.
