UFC 100 Picks, Predictions & UFC 100 Odds: Tomorrow night, Saturday, July 11th, the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada will host the biggest event in the history of the UFC. The Ultimate Fighting Championship's 100th event, UFC 100, is a spectacular 11 fight card, highlighted by what should be an epic battle between Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar and Interim Heavyweight Champion Frank Mir. MMA oddsmakers at Sportsbook.com have Lesnar listed as a -240 moneyline favorite in their UFC 100 Picks, Predictions & UFC 100 Odds.
Lesnar looked to have Mir all but defeated in their first meeting, taking the former champ to the mat with big punches, but he got careless against the jiu-jitsu black belt and fell into an easy leg lock. The 6'3" 265lbs. Lesnar tapped out at 1:30 in the first round. Apparantly the sting of that defeat is still with the former NCAA Division I heavyweight wrestling champion. "I can't wait to get my revenge against Frank," Lesnar told the UFC's official website. "I'm going to finish this fight on the ground the way it should have been finished last time and walk out with my UFC heavyweight championship belt around my waist." Frank Mir returns to the Octagon for the first time since his scintillating destruction of Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira at UFC 92 in December of last year. The decisive TKO win over Nogueira was Mir's third straight victory, and it signaled to the rest of the MMA world that the former champ had completely recovered from a 2004 motorcycle wreck that nearly ended his career. Mir, a native of Las Vegas, is anticipating an improved Lesnar when the two dust it up tomorrow evening. "He's a very powerful guy," Mir said of his UFC Picks, Predictions & UFC Odds opponent. "I think I'm going to see a different fighter from our first fight. This fight has all the makings of an historic matchup." UFC 100 also features an amazing undercard scrap between welterweight champion Georges St. Pierre and top challenger Thiago Alves. St. Pierre, one of the best all-around MMA fighters in the world, will be making his third title defense. Alves, 22-4, has won seven straight fights, the latest a unanimous decision over Josh Koscheck at UFC 90 in October.
