UFC 100 Odds, Picks & Predictions: The UFC is celebrating its 100th event tonight at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. UFC 100, which is scheduled to get underway at 10:00pm ET, is highlighted by a match for the heavyweight championship between current belt holder Brock Lesnar and former champion Frank Mir. The wrestler turned fighter, Lesnar, is being listed as a -255 moneyline favorite in Bodog.com's Brock Lesnar vs Frank Mir UFC 100 Odds, Picks & Predictions. Frank Mir, who earned the heavyweight title back in 2004 with a TKO against Tim Slyvia, has grown somewhat accustomed to the underdog role. Many people counted Mir out for good when he nearly lost his leg in a motorcycle accident — also in 2004 — but the jiu-jitsu black belt returned to the Octagon in 2006. Despite losses to Marcio Cruz and Brandon Vera, Mir has fought his way into another shot at the belt he never lost in the cage. The Las Vegas native proved in his last fight, a TKO beat down of Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira, that he was not only fully recovered, but that his stand up game had evolved into a deadly complement to an already lethal ground attack. Still, the public seems to think the 30 year old is in for a pounding later tonight when he faces Lesnar for the second time. Mir appears to be alright with that sentiment. "It always makes it easier," Mir said in regard to being underestimated. "I always do well when I'm in this position." Mir, who trained at his father's martial arts school as an early teen, already has one win over the enormous Lesnar. The two met back at UFC 81 in February of last year; the fight marked Lesnar's first appearance in the Octagon. Mir survived Lesnar's initial assault and then took advantage of the over-eager Minnesotan by submitting him with a leg lock just a 1:30 into the opening round. The always subdued Mir believes Lesnar has improved since that meeting, but he still sees a fighter who is, to some extent, one-dimensional. "I pretty much see the same guy," Mir said of his UFC 100 Odds, Picks & Predictions foe. "I think he'll be a little bit more reserved, and maybe not come sprinting out, but he's gonna throw a couple punches and then basically look for the takedown and put me in a position where he can try to finish the fight with punches. I don't think he's advanced enough in MMA to be looking for any kind of finish in any other aspect of the game." Brock Lesnar, who has gone on to beat Heath Herring and Randy Couture since his UFC debut, thinks Mir was lucky to escape with the victory. "I feel I gave the (first) fight to him," Lesnar said. The 6'3" former wrestling champion is drawing on his college experience to help him mentally prepare for another meeting with the submission specialist. "Throughout my wrestling career in college, I didn't lose too often," Lesnar said. "But the guys I did lose to, I've always been able to come back, except for one guy I never had the opportunity to get a rematch with — Stephen Neal. But the other guys I've had the opportunity to come back and beat, so I've been in this position and I don't see it going any other way really."
