UFC 100 Odds, Picks & Predictions: MMA legend Mark "The Hammar" Coleman returns to the Octagon for just the second time since January of 1999 to meet veteran striker Stephan Bonnar at tonight's UFC 100. Coleman, the UFC Hall of Famer and former heavyweight champion, and Bonnar are part of an undercard that will showcase fighters such as Jon Fitch, CB Dollaway, Jon Jones, and Jake O'Brien. Despite his pedigree, "The Hammar" is listed as a +300 underdog to the younger Bonnar in Bodog.com's Stephan Bonnar vs Mark Coleman UFC 100 Odds, Picks & Predictions. Mark Coleman comes into the Octagon this evening with a 15-9 MMA record. The one time champ, who tore through the heavyweight division in the mid 90's has not won a UFC fight since February of 1997 when he beat Dan Severn by submission. Coleman, however, is not that far removed from a PRIDE career that saw him win the Grand Prix in 2000 and beat Mauricio Rua in 2006. Ironically, the 44 year old Coleman's victim in his last PRIDE fight was his conqueror in his return to the UFC. Rua scored a third round TKO against the Columbus, Ohio native at UFC 93 in January. Coleman, who barely had time to train for the Rua match, appeared his age for much of the fight. This time around the former national championship wrestler (Ohio State) has been preparing diligently in Vegas for what he knows will be a tough battle. "There's no quit in Stephan Bonnar and nobody's finished him off yet, so that's my goal," Coleman said. "[I want] to be the first guy to finish him and make him tap or have the ref pull me off him. But he's a fierce competitor and I expect it to be a war." Stephan Bonnar will make his second appearance in the Octagon since suffering a knee injury in 2007. Bonnar, who has a 14-5 record, did not look like his former self when he fought Jon Jones back on January 31st. Jones overcame the 32 year old Indiana native and recorded a unanimous decision win. Bonnar has stated that he believes overtraining led to his sluggish performance against the budding star and that he has not made that mistake this time around. Nonetheless, the man they call "American Psycho" has worked hard to be ready for a Coleman he characterizes as a "great athlete" with "physical strength and power." Tonight's UFC 100 will take place at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. The event is headlined by a heavyweight championship match between Brock Lesnar and Frank Mir and can be seen live on Pay-Per-View at 10:00pm ET.
