UFC on Versus Jon Jones vs Vladimir Matyushenko Betting Odds: Jon "Bones" Jones, one of the fastest rising stars in the UFC, returns to the Octagon tonight for his 11th professional fight. The New York native will take on Vladimir Matyushenko this evening at the San Diego Sports Arena in the second ever UFC on Versus event. Jon Jones received a great deal of hype prior to his signing with the UFC, being labled by many as a future champion due 
to his freakish athleticism and diverse skill set. Thus far the 23 year old has delivered on his great promise, putting together a 10-1 record with his only loss being a disqualification against Matt Hamill. Jones controlled that fight throughout, but struck Hamill in the forehead with an illegal "12 to 6" elbow while the latter lay on the canvas.
Jones recovered from that setback with a dominating March win over Brandon Vera in which he broke a bone in the veteran's face. The decisive victory brought his UFC record to 4-1 and racheted up the intensity on the future title holder talk.
Jones, who is one of many great light heavyweight contenders, still has to work his way up the division's laddar, though. Given the expectations resting on the phenom, every fight going forward is critical, especially tonight's, which Jones called "an opportunity to step up [his] game."
Vladimir Matyushenko, a veteran of 28 professional battles, is no stranger to big names or big fights as the 39 year old has squared off against the likes of Tito Ortiz, Andrei Arlovski, Antonio Rogerio Nogueira, and Pedro Rizzo. "The Janitor", who 24-4 as a professional fighter, brought his UFC record to 5-2 his last time in the Octagon with a split decision win over Eliot Marshall.
The Belarus native will need all of his old tricks tonight if he hopes to extend his current three fight win streak, but he already knows that having described Jones as "young, athletic, dangerous".
This evening's 11 fight card is scheduled to get underway at 9:00pm ET on the Versus network.
