UFC 101 Odds, Picks & Predictions: The biggest and baddest organization in mixed martial arts, the UFC, is holding its 101st event tonight at the Wachovia Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. UFC 101: Declaration can be seen live on Pay-Per-View starting at 10pm ET. The fight card features 11 brawls, including a main event battle for the lightweight title between champion B.J. "The Prodigy" Penn and top contender Kenny "Kenflo" Florian. UFC 100 Odds, Picks & Predictions at BetUS.com have Penn listed as a -260 favorite in this evening's feature bout. B.J. Penn will defend his lightweight belt for the second time when things get underway in Philly tonight. However, the Hilo, Hawaii native lost his last fight as he jumped up to 170lbs. to take on welterweight champion Georges St. Pierre for a second time. St. Pierre dominated Penn for three rounds, which prompted Penn's corner to throw in the towel at the start of the fourth. Prior to the St. Pierre fight, the 30 year old Penn looked unbeatable in wins over Joe Stevenson and Sean Sherk. "The Prodigy", who has a 13-5-1 professional MMA record, has never been defeated at 155lbs. He appears to be ready to keep that streak intact after working with new trainer Marv Marinovich in preparation for this evening's fight. Penn indicated tonight's battle is about proving to himself that he is, indeed, the best lightweight in the world. "Forget proving anything to anyone else," Penn said. "I'm doing this for me now, and to beat me, it's not gonna take a few simple answers." Kenny Florian will be getting his second crack at the lightweight belt when he meets Penn in the Octagon tonight. The Westwood, Massachusetts native fought Sean Sherk for the title back in October of 2006, but lost by unanimous decision. However, he has not tasted defeat since that match, going 6-0 against the likes of Joe Stevenson, Joe Lauzon, and Roger Huerta. Florian has been masterful during his current streak, winning three fights by submission, two by technical knockout, and one via unanimous decision. The Boston College graduate, despite the quality of the oppostion he has faced, knows Penn will be his toughest challenge yet. "BJ Penn is the best lightweight in the world," Florian stated to the UFC's official website. "I see [tonight] as an amazing opportunity to test my skills."
