UFC 101 Odds: The Wachovia Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania will play host tonight for UFC 101: Declaration. The event, which features a battle for the lightweight championship between B.J. Penn and Kenny Florian, can be seen line on Pay-Per-View at 10pm ET. Also on the 11 fight card is a co-main event scrap between current middleweight champion Anderson Silva and former light heavyweight champion Forrest Griffin. UFC 101 Odds: Anderson Silva vs Forrest Griffin UFC 101 Picks at Bodog.com have Silva listed as a -340 favorite, despite the jump in weight class. Anderson Silva is widely regarded as the best pound-for-pound MMA fighter in the world; however, some of the shine has come off the Brazilian's star of late as he has looked bored and somewhat disinterested in his last two fights. Silva extended his win streak to 10 fights after beating Thales Leites back in April, but the five round unanimous decision win prompted a number of boos and geers from the Montreal crowd. The pace of the fight was not to the fans' liking, which seems to be a burgeoning trend when Silva enters the Octagon. UFC President Dana White is seeking to quell the growing discontent with the "Spider" by having him move up in weight class for the second time. Forrest Griffin, who is a championship calibar fighter, will pose more of a challenge than did James Irvin, who Silva dispatched with a first round knock out in their 205lbs. conflict. Griffin is known for his entertaining brawls, and he will leave Silva no choice but to engage in some kind of exchange. Silva inidcated that he is aware of the recent backlash, and that he will do his part this evening to give fight fans their monies worth. "I'm very confident that I'm gonna go out there against Forrest and we're gonna give the fans the type of fight everybody's hoping for," Silva said. "Somebody's gonna get knocked out. It's not gonna go to a decision." Griffin, who is 16-5 after losing his light heavyweight belt to Rashad Evans in December of last year, echoed those sentiments. "I'm gonna fight hard, I'm gonna fight smart, I'm not gonna pitter-patter, I'm not gonna run," Griffin said. "I'm gonna fight." Get ready MMA fans, this could be a legendary battle tonight at the Wachovia Center.
