It's fitting that UFC 134 odds and local fan favorite Anderson Silva gets a shot at the UFC middle-weight championship in his home country of Brazil when he steps into the octagon with Japan's Yushin Okami for the UFC 134 main event at HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro. In another feature prior to the Silva-Okami fight, fans will be treated to an exciting featherweight match between Brazilian fan favorites Felipe Arantes and Yuri Alcantara.
Silva is a heavy -625 odds favorite, listed on the Bodog.eu UFC/MMA board to win the fight while Okami backers are getting +425 odds as underdog. Bodog lists -180 odds that Silva wins inside distance and +325 he wins by five round decision. Bodog offers -400 odds that Silva vs. Okami completes one full round and -250 they don't complet the first round.
Alcantara is lined -500 odds favorite to defeat Arantes in their featherweight match while Arantes backers are getting +350 to pull an upset. Odds on this fight being a short one are priced low (-230) while giving +160 the fight goes past two rounds.
Silva was originally scheduled to fight Mike Swick in his anticipated return to the octagon, but because of injury was scratched and eventually replaced Okami. Alcantara was originally slated to fight Antonio Carvalho who was also scratched and replaced with Arantes.
