UFC 76: Mauricio Rua vs Forest GriffinUFC 76: Mauricio Rua vs Forest Griffin

Shogun, Shogun, Shogun. Mauricio Rua will beat Forest Griffin like he’s his kid brother. Griffin requested to fight the toughest and he is fighting a top pound for pound fighter in the world. This will be ugly. Those with a faint of heart do not watch this fight as Rua will beat him down something fierce. Griffin is known for his heart so I say Rua will punish him the first round and KO him in the second round.

Bodog has posted MMA betting odds on the Mauricio Rua vs Forest Griffin Fight.

UFC 76 Light Heavyweights - Sat, Sep 22nd (11:00pm)

Mauricio Rua: -325

Forrest Griffin: +250

UFC 76 Preview & Picks

Thiago Tavares vs Tyson Griffin

This will be a great match but I have to give the advantage to Thiago Tavares who is undefeated at 13-0 and is a submission specialist. On the ground he is one of the best in the world. He will be facing a very heavy handed Tyson Griffin (9-1) who has fought some top level and opponents like Clay Guida, Frank Edgar, Duane Ludwig, and Urijah Faber. Griffin is fast and punches hard but when two fighters are equal the rule of thumb is to take the person with a better ground game. I say Tavares wins but this is a pick’em and I would stay away from this bet.

UFC 76 Lightweights - Sat, Sep 22nd (10:00pm)

Tyson Griffin: -165

Thiago Tavares: +135

Jon Fitch vs Diego Sanchez

This in my opinion is a toss up fight as well. I am going to go with Diego Sanchez at +110. Before his loss to Jodh Koscheck I had him ranked as that #2 welterweight in the world. Jon Fitch (14-2) is tough but he hasn’t fought top level opponents in MMA yet or fought at the UFC level. Take Diego Sanchez -115 odds at Bodog to redeem himself after his first lost to Koscheck.

UFC 76 Welterweights - Sat, Sep 22nd (10:00pm)

Jon Fitch: -115

Diego Sanchez: -115

Wilson Gouveia vs Jason Lambert

Wilson Gouveia is training with the American Top Team in Coconut Creek Florida and rumors are that he is training like a madman. He is on a three match winning streak and looking to make his mark in the light heavyweight division. He was always known for his skills but now he has put the work ethic into his training. Lambert will be overmatched by Gouveia’s ground game.
