UFC 120: Michael Bisping vs Yoshihiro Akiyama Betting Odds

by Matt Foust on Saturday, October 16th, 2010

UFC 120 Michael Bisping vs Yoshihiro Akiyama Betting Odds: England's Michael Bisping and Japan's Yoshihiro Akiyama will headline today's UFC 120 fight card, which is scheduled to get underway in a little under three hours at the O2 Arena in London, England. The event can be seen at 8:00pm ET tonight on Spike TV. UFC 120 Betting Odds at online bookmaker BetUS.com have Bisping listed as a -210 moneyline favorite in today's main event clash.

Michael Bisping's rampant trash talking would suggest that he is not a desperate man; however, if the UFC 120: Michael Bisping vs Yoshihiro Akiyama Betting OddsManchester native is interested in becoming a UFC Champion, he should enter the Octagon today with more than a sense of urgency.

Bisping's career with the promotion started with a bang as he won season three of The Ultimate Fighter and went on to capture seven of his first eight fights. The 31 year old has fallen harder times of late, despite garnering a unanimous decision win over Dan Miller in his last scrap. Prior to the Miller fight, Bisping sandwiched a KO win over Denis Kang between losses to Dan Henderson and Wanderlei Silva.

The recent rough patch has not affected the Englishman's confidence, though. Bisping seems certain that another win is in the offing this afternoon.

"I've looked at Akiyama. I've looked at his style. I look at the way he fights, and I'm positive I can beat him," Bisping said. "I'm a much better fighter than I was a year ago. I'm prepared for a hard fight, but it's a fight I'm going to win."

Yoshihiro Akiyama enters this fight with a little desperation as well after seeing his UFC record fall to 1-1 back in July. Some would argue that the Judo master is 0-2 since joining the promotion as he won a controversial split decision over Alan Belcher in his debut last summer.

Akiyama, who suffered a third round submission in an epic battle with Chris Leben just a few months ago, has a career record of 13-2.

The 35 year old Osaka native is anticipating a slug fest against the strike oriented Bisping today.

"I am very excited to fight Michael Bisping on his home ground," Akiyama said. "He is a very good techinical striker, so I am expecting a stand up match with him."
