Randy Couture vs Brock Lesnar UFC 91PredictionThe MGM Grand in Las Vegas is the place to be this weekend, Saturday Nov 15, when the biggest fight in UFC history goes off. 3-time UFC Heavyweight Champ Randy "The Natural" Couture puts his Heavyweight belt on the line when he squares off against his toughest opponent yet, Brock Lesnar. UFC oddsmakers at SBGglobal.com have Randy Couture as -110 money line fav over Brock Lesnar who is listed at -120. Get your Randy Couture vs Brock Lesnar UFC 91Prediction in now at SBGglobal.com

Randy “The Natural” Couture (16-8) is the biggest name in the UFC and his return to the Octagon is going to be a must see event. Randy defended his belt back in August 25 at UFC 74 when he beat Gabriel Gonzaga by TKO in the third round. He suffered a broken left arm from blocking one of Gonzaga's kicks during the course of the fight. He regained the Heavyweight belt from Tim Sylvia in UFC 68 when Couture's first punch, at :08 of the first round, sent the 6'8" Sylvia reeling to the mat. Couture controlled the pace of the fight for five rounds, smothering Sylvia with effective striking and numerous takedowns. He won by unanimous decision making him the first fighter in UFC history to become a three-time champion. Couture is generally recognized as a clinch and ground-and-pound fighter who uses his wrestling ability to execute take downs, establish top position, and successively strike the opponent on the bottom. He has also displayed a variety of skills in boxing, Muay Thai and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, submitting two opponents using different chokeholds. Randy has seven wins by KO and two wins by submission.

Thoughts on his upcoming opponent Brock Lesnar: I have a lot of respect for Brock as an athlete and a collegiate wrestler, but I know exactly where he’s at, he’s trying to make the transition from a wrestler to mixed martial arts. I’ve been there, done that, and I know what the pitfalls are. This will be an interesting matchup, and it will be very nice to be home in the Octagon for this fight.

Brock Lesnar (2-1) is a world class wrestler and WWE star who is built like a tank. He’s only had two fights in his UFC career, one was a loss to Frank Mir just 1:30 into the first round, and he gets a title shot. Go figure.  His best fight was his second fight against Heath Herring in UFC 87 when he beat Herring by unanimous decision. In the early seconds of the first round, Lesnar dropped Herring with a straight right. For the rest of the fight, Lesnar kept the fight on the ground and went on to win. In his UFC debut Lesnar took on former UFC Heavyweight Champion Frank Mir at UFC 81.  Lesnar secured an early takedown, but was deducted a point for hitting Mir on the back of the head. Following another takedown by Lesnar, Mir managed to secure a kneebar and force a submission at 1:30 of the first round. In his earlier years Lesnar was an accomplished amateur wrestler winning the 2000 NCAA wrestling championship and placing second in 1999.

Thoughts on his opponent Randy Couture: It's an honor to fight Randy Couture, he's a legend in this sport, and to get the chance to test myself against him is a gift. A lot of guys would love to have this opportunity; Randy is the UFC heavyweight champion. There is one goal that I've had since I started training in MMA and that is to capture the title. Now that I'm getting the chance, nothing is going to stop me. I'm walking out of the Octagon with the belt around my waist.

Point-Spreads.com Randy Couture vs Brock Lesnar UFC 91Prediction – Lesnar -120

The Bottom Line: As much as I want Randy to win, I think the big guy may have the advantage with his size and strength. Brock has been training and staying active since his start in MMA while Randy has been doing the celebrity thing and focusing on his clothing line. UFC 90 Silva vs Cote Betting Predictions PDF Print E-mail

UFC 90 Silva vs Cote Betting Predictions The best pound-for-pound fighter in the world Anderson "The Spider" Silva returns to the Octagon, Saturday October 25, to defend the UFC Middleweight Title against French-Canadian contender Patrick "The Predator" Cote. Other interesting fights have Josh Koscheck facing Thiago “The Pittbull” Alves and Sean “Muscle Shark” Sherk vs Tyson Griffin. Be sure to get all your UFC 90 Silva vs Cote Predictions in now at SBGglobal.com

Anderson Silva (22-4-0) vs Patrick Cote (14-4-0)
Silva is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt and mixed martial artist specialist who hasn’t been defeated in eight fights, his last loss was a disqualification for an illegal kick. Every limb on his body is a deadly weapon; in fact six of his last fights have ended in a KO or TKO and his other wins have come by submission. Silva won the UFC Middleweight Title by beating Rich Franklin in UFC 64. Silva defeated Franklin by TKO (strikes) at 2:59 in the first round. Silva hit Franklin with knees to the body in the Muay Thai-clinch, then badly broke Franklin's nose with a knee to the face. Unable to strike back, Franklin dodged the last of Silva's strikes before falling to the ground, where referee "Big" John McCarthy ended the fight.

Thoughts on his opponent Patrick Cote: I think Patrick Cote is a very tough fighter. He has a good chin, and he has heavy hands. I believe he deserves an opportunity to fight for the title.

Patrick Cote is no slouch in the UFC and is the perfect contender for Silva. He is 7-1 in his last eight fights with wins over Jason MacDonald, Scott Smith, Jason Day, Kendall Grove, Andrew McFedries and Ricardo Almeida. He has six wins by KO and three by submission. Cote is currently training at Brazilian Top Team Canada based in Montreal where fellow Brazilian Top Team Canada member and friend, Georges St. Pierre, also trains. Two of his last three fights were won by TKO but his last fight in UFC 86, against Ricardo Almeida, went the distance with Cote getting the win by Split Decision. Cote favorite technique is the one punch knockout, Kimura and rear naked choke.

Thoughts on his opponent Anderson Silva: It’s a true honor for me to fight this guy. He's the best and I respect him a lot. My style will be perfect to give him a war and I have a lot of confidence to win this fight.

Anderson Silva is listed as -800 moneyline favorite over Patrick Cote who is listed as +500 underdog.

Josh Koscheck (13-2-0) vs Thiago Alves (21-4-0)
Koscheck is facing his toughest opponent, Thiago Alves, who is fresh off a huge win over former UFC Welterweight Champion Matt Hughes at UFC 85. Alves is 8-2 in his last ten fights, six straight wins, where seven of those fights ended in a TKO or doctor stoppage. His last loss was to Jon Fitch in UFC Fight Night 5. He has notable wins over Karo Parisyan, Chris Lytle, Kuniyoshi Hironaka, Tony DeSouza and John Alessio.

Thoughts on his opponent Josh Koscheck:  Josh Koscheck is a great fighter and I think he’s an even better matchup for me. I’m looking forward to fighting him, and I’m gonna knock him out.

Josh Koscheck was a collegiate wrestler and NCAA Division I Champion in the 174 lb weight class. He made his way into the UFC by competing in The Ultimate Fighter reality show. Although he didn't proceed to the final round, Koscheck was featured on the undercard of the live season finale on Spike TV, where he made his official UFC debut by defeating Christopher Sanford by knockout. Since then Koscheck has been a staple in the UFC. He has seven wins in his last nine fights, five wins have been Unanimous decisions, two by submission and just one by TKO. But ever since his fight against Diego Sanchez at UFC 69 he’s looked lack luster. Koscheck defeated Diego Sanchez, his first loss, by unanimous decision in an uneventful fight. Koscheck out struck Sanchez through three rounds, and only initiated a wrestling takedown once. UFC President Dana White announced a few weeks after the fight that Diego Sanchez had an undiagnosed illness before and during the fight which turned out to be serious staph infection. Koscheck was defeated by Georges St. Pierre at UFC 74 via unanimous decision. Koscheck was able to take St. Pierre down in round one, but was unable to capitalize or repeat the act in the next two rounds. He made his return at UFC 82, defeating Dustin Hazelett by TKO due to strikes at 1:24 of the 2nd round. He won his next fight, against Chris Lytle at UFC 86, winning by unanimous decision after cutting Lytle badly with "ground and pound" elbows. Koscheck has agreed to step in and fight Thiago Alves on just 2 weeks’ notice due to an injury suffered by Diego Sanchez.

Thoughts on his opponent Thiago Alves:  I think he’s a tough opponent. He’s on a tear right now in the UFC and for me to step up and fight him, I think it’s gonna be an exciting fight.  I’ve been in training since Chris Lytle, I haven’t taken any time off, and he’s a tough guy, so I’ve got to come in and fight him at my ‘A’ game.

Josh Koscheck is listed as -150 moneyline favorite over Thiago Alves who is listed as +120 underdog.

Other scheduled fights:
Junior Dos Santos vs Fabricio Werdum
Sean Sherk (-230) vs Tyson Griffin (+170)

Kimbo Slice vs Ken Shamrock Prediction PDF Print E-mail

Kimbo Slice vs Ken Shamrock PredictionInternet sensation Kimbo Slice gets set for his fourth fight, Saturday October 4, against the old and withered Ken Shamrock at the Bank Atlantic Center in Sunrise, Fla. This fight will be aired live, and free, on CBS. MMA oddsmakers at BetUS.com have Kimbo Slice as -350 moneyline favorite over Ken Shamrock who is listed as +250 underdog. Get your Kimbo Slice vs Ken Shamrock Prediction in now at BetUS.com

Kimbo Slice has won his last three fights, some over lack luster opponents. He has two wins by knockout and one by submission. EliteXC is trying to market this guy by setting him up with easy fights. He’s currently their main money maker. Slice made his sanctioned MMA debut against former WBO Heavyweight champion boxer Ray Mercer at Cage Fury Fighting Championships 5. Slice defeated Mercer with a guillotine choke at 1:12 into the first round. He then fought washed up fighter Tank Abbott, beating him in 43 seconds, he then made his main event debut against James Thompson.  Thompson won both on total points by repeatedly taking down Slice and grounding and pounding. In the opening seconds of the third round, however, Kimbo threw a haymaker to Thompson's left ear, which ruptured Thompson's cauliflower. This was soon followed by three unanswered punches to a standing Thompson, which led to a referee stoppage and a controversial win for Slice. Fellow EliteXC competitor Brett Rogers was particularly critical of Slice's victory, calling Slice's performance "garbage" in a post fight interview. Now with his next opponent Shamrock coming up, the winner will take on Bret Rogers. Gee I wonder who will win.

Ken “The World's Most Dangerous Man” Shamrock, ya right, is a 15 year veteran of MMA; he first made his debut in UFC 1 back in 1993. After some success in other MMA fighting organizations he came back into the UFC to take on former UFC Light Heavyweight champion, Tito Ortiz. He lost to Ortiz in UFC 40 by TKO stoppage by his corner. He would then try his luck against Rich Franklin and MMA legend Kazushi "The Gracie Hunter" Sakuraba. Both were humiliating losses and Shamrocks career was clearly on the down slope. At UFC 61 Shamrock and Ortiz had a rematch of their UFC 40 fight and guess what, Shamrock got pounded on. He just can’t let go of his past, GIVE IT UP SHAMROCK YOU’RE DONE! He’s lost his last five fights in a row and I don’t know what EliteXC promoters are thinking. Kimbos power and strength is a serious threat to Shamrocks health and don’t be surprised if Shamrock is carted out of the ring.

"The Iceman", Chuck Liddell, begins the second leg of his quest to recapture the UFC light heavyweight title tonight at the Phillips Arena in Atlanta, GA. Liddell, the dethroned former champ, will be facing Ultimate Fighter season two winner Rashad "Sugar" Evans. The UFC 88: Breakthrough card is set to begin at 10:00pm ET and can be seen live on pay-per-view. UFC 88 Betting odds at Looselines.com have Evans as a +230 underdog against Liddell.UFC 88 Betting Odds Preview

Liddell is coming off a unanimous decision victory over Wanderlei Silva back in December of 2007. Prior to that win, "The Iceman" had suffered back to back losses against Quinton "Rampage" Jackson and Keith Jardine. The 6'2" Liddell appeared to have returned to form against Silva though, and he is a -260 favorite to take out the undefeated Evans tonight.

Evans, who is 16-0-1 in his MMA career, scored a split decision win over Michael Bisping in his last fight (Nov. 2007 UFC 78: Validation). Before the Bisping victory "Sugar" and Tito Ortiz fought to a draw at UFC 73: Stacked. Evans believes he has what it takes to overcome Liddell's lethal strikes and end up victorious tonight.

"I think I'm the best, so I'm gonna go out there, fight the best, and test myself" Evans said.

Also on the nine fight card are bouts between Rich Franklin and Matt Hamill, Dan Henderson and Rousimar Palhares, and Martin Kampmann and Nate Marquardt. Franklin, who sports a 25-3 record, is making his first return to the light heavyweight class since 2003 and is a -245 favorite to beat Hamill.

UFC 88: Breakthrough betting odds at Looselines.com:

Rashad Evans +230 vs Chuck Lidell -270

Matt Hamill +205 vs Rich Franklin -245

Rousimer Palhares +159 vs Dan Henderson -179

Martin Kampmann +130 vs Nate Marquardt -150

Rich Franklin vs Matt Hamill UFC 88 Prediction PDF Print E-mail

Rich “Ace” Franklin is jumping up a class to Light Heavyweight for his fight this weekend, Saturday September 2, where he’ll face the hearing impaired Matt “The Hammer” Hamill, who’s coming off his biggest win. Hamill, a two-time world champion freestyle wrestler has a chance to graduate to his potential by taking on a dangerous freelancing striker in Franklin, the former Middleweight Champion. Oddsmakers at Bookmaker.com have Rich Franklin as -255 moneyline favorite over Matt Hamill who is listed as +205 underdog. Get your Rich Franklin vs Matt Hamill UFC 88 Prediction in now at Bookmaker.com

The 6’1” 205lb Rich Franklin has only suffered two defeats in his last 12 fights, his losses were to the greatest fighter out there Anderson Silva, so you can’t blame him. His last fight was at UFC 83 where he squared off against Travis Lutter, he got the win in the second round after a TKO stoppage. This was despite Lutter locking in a tight armbar. Franklin exhibited a high level armbar submission escape, made even more impressive because Lutter is a Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt. Franklin is a stand up fighter who loves to go toe to toe. He has excellent striking capabilities; he’s well conditioned and is well rounded. He’s a definite crowd pleaser as well as a great fighter. Rich Franklin vs Matt Hamill UFC 88 Prediction in now

Thoughts on his opponent Matt Hamill - Matt is a tough wrestler and will pose a bit of a challenge for me moving back up to light heavyweight.  He and I have a history together, and it will be difficult competing against someone I consider a friend.

The 6’1” 205lb Matt Hamill is a well known wrestling champ who has been working on his boxing skills. His most recent win was at UFC Fight Night Kenny Florian vs Joe Lauzon when he took on Tim Boetsch. Hamill won by TKO in the second round. But his most famous fight was at UFC 75 when he faced fellow Ultimate Fighter reality contestant Michael Bisping. Hamill had made Bisping look like a chump throughout the whole fight. But he lost by a highly controversial split decision. I think they gave it to Bisping because it was in his home town and he’s more marketable. There was supposed to be a rematch. The rematch was scheduled for UFC 78, but due to knee surgery Hamill withdrew. A rematch has become unlikely now that Bisping has dropped down to the middleweight division after his fight with Evans. Ya he dropped a weight class because he knows he’ll get his ass kicked in the light heavyweight division. Anyways, if Hamill wants to win he’ll have to take Franklin to the mat and keep it there. Rich Franklin vs Matt Hamill UFC 88 Prediction in now

Thoughts on his opponent Rich Franklin - Rich Franklin is a big step up for me. We are both aggressive and it will make for an interesting fight.
