Wanderlei Silva – has only two wins in his last seven fights, recently losing his last two. He lost to Quinton Jackson in UFC 92, after beating him twice before. Jackson avenged his previous defeats by knocking Silva out with a left hook in the first round. Wanderlei next fight was against Rich Franklin at UFC 99. After a hard fought match on both sides, Silva lost via unanimous decision to Franklin. In the second round, Silva rocked Franklin hard with punches and almost finished the match, but wasn’t ment to be.  After the fight a lot of the fans in the arena booed the judges decision, believing that Wanderlei had won. He did beat Keith Jardine at UFC 84, knocking him out 36 seconds into round 1.He has the power to knockout opponents but must watch for incoming strikes from Bisping . Wanderlei loves to use the rear naked choke hold and has devastating knees. He has a Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu under Carlinhos Gracie, one of the best in the world.

Thoughts on his opponent Michael Bisping – He’s a great opponent for my first fight at 185. He’s coming from a victory over Denis Kang, and I’d put him in the top five in the world at 185.

Michael Bisping – has four wins in his last five fights after recently beating Denis Kang at UFC 105. Bisping TKO'd Kang in the 2nd round. Kang dropped Bisping with a right hand in the first round which stunned Bisping. Kang followed Bisping to the floor and attempted submissions, but Bisping defended well and neutralised Kang's attacks despite Kang briefly having full mount. In the 2nd round Bisping secured a single-leg takedown and the complexion of the fight changed. He unleashed a ground and pound attack on the Canadian, which Kang failed to recover from. The fight was awarded "Fight of the Night." His only loss in his last five came at the hands of Dan Henderson at UFC 100. Bisping was knocked out by Henderson in the second round with a flush right hook while Bisping was circling to his left. Henderson followed up with another hard right hand after Bisping had fallen to the ground before the fight was stopped. It marked the first occasion Bisping had ever conceded a KO loss and also only his second loss in his MMA career to date .

Thoughts on his opponent Wanderlei Silva – I believe it’s a very winnable fight for me. I know Wanderlei’s a legend and has been around a long time, but I truly believe styles make fights and that I’ve got the perfect style to beat him. Obviously I’m going to have to be wary of his aggressive style and his punch power, but I’m very confident of going to Australia and beating Wanderlei. He’s experienced and possesses heavy hands but, other than, I feel I’m way better than him. I know I have the ability to beat him – it’s now just about executing my game plan on the night.
