Brazil
Coached by national coach and World Cup winner Dunga, Brazil are bringing a galaxy of top young stars and some famous names such as Ronaldinho as they aim for their first ever Olympic gold soccer medal. Brazil are listed at 5/2 odds as favorite.

Argentina
Coached by 1986 World Cup winner Sergio Batista, Argentina have also went all out to gain a second successive Olympic gold medal in the men's soccer competition. Experience and youthful exuberance are coming in bundles with Riquelme and Messi just two of the star names in the Argentina squad. Argentina are listed at 2/1 odds to win gold.

Netherlands
Vastly experienced coach Foppe de Haan will be hoping to bring some of the success he had with the Dutch Under 21 side to the Under 23 squad in the 2008 Olympics. Top talent such as Ryan Babel and Roy Makaay will dominate the early talk about this squad but there is quality spread throughout all areas of de Haan's side. Netherlands are listed at 7/1 odds.

Italy
Italy's roster is comprised almost entirely of players from the domestic league, but unlike Australia or the Ivory Coast, this is not a weakness. Serie A is a world-class league, which should help the Olympic team. American turncoat Giuseppe Rossi (he was born in the states and raised in Clifton, N.J.; therefore he could and should play for the Americans) will lead the attack for Italy. Italy are listed at 7/1 odds.

United States
With a blossoming national league in MLS promoting many young American soccer stars, coach Peter Nowak will be hoping that 2008 is the gold medal year the United States have been working towards. Big names such as Freddy Adu and Jozy Altidore will provide the main thrust of the United States attack. USA is listed at 22/1.
