Todd Rogers and Philip Dalhausser beat Renato Gomes and Jorge Terceiro of Georgia 2-0 (21-11, 21-13). World champions, Rogers and Dalhausser made easy work of Gomes and Terceiro, taking just 42 minutes to wrap up their semifinal. Gomes and Terceiro took the lead in the first set but the American pair turned it around and was soon ahead 11-2. Rogers and Dalhausser have won 27 of the 43 AVP events they entered, including eight of 10 in 2008. Internationally, the duo has won five of the 18 FIVB events they've entered, including three of six in 2008. They also won the 2007 World Championships. The USA team can’t take this match lightly as the Brazilian pair just knocked off the defending champs.

Brazilians Araujo and Magalhaes were the underdogs going into the semis against fellow countrymen, and defending gold medalists, Ricardo Santos and Emanuel Rego but they managed to beat them in straight sets on Wednesday.   Santos and Rego were previously unbeaten throughout the Olympics. Araujo and Magalhaes won a World Championship together in 2005 and have 12 wins on the world tour.
